The EU provides microloans to help people become self-employed!

Approximately 99% of all start-ups in Europe are micro enterprises or small enterprises, one third of these are launched by people who are unemployed. The EU Microfinance Facility has begun providing microloans to the unemployed and small businesses which employ fewer than 10 people (around 91% of all European businesses). The microloans are intended for individuals who need finance in order to start or build very small businesses (10 people or fewer), but who do not have access to traditional banking services. Under this new programme, entrepreneurs can qualify for a loan of up to €25,000. They will also benefit from technical assistance such as training and assistance when writing a business plan.
